Biography

Born the 7th of June 1960 in Iasi, Romania, as Radu Duda, son of professor René Duda and Dr. Gabriela Constandache
Married to HRH Crown Princess Margarita of Romania (1996)
Created Prince of Romania and HRH (2005)

Graduate from the University of Drama and Film in Bucharest, 1984
Graduate from the National College of Defence in Romania, class of 2002
Courses at George C. Marshall College in Garmisch, Germany (Senior Executives) September 2003 and John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, August 2004 (Senior Executives in National and International Security)

Advisor to His Majesty King Michael I of Romania

Over 25 years of artistic career in Romania and in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. He was the Artistic Director of the first project in Romania of art therapy for abandoned children in orphanages.  The project, founded in 1993, was developed in eight cities over six years.

Prince Radu played a major role in the official visits undertaken by His Majesty King Michael I in 1997 and 2002 for the integration of Romania in NATO.  The King visited the United Kingdom, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Luxembourg and The Netherlands, meeting with heads of state and government.

In 1997-2001, Prince Radu has regularly accompanied The King on his visits and created the concept of the King’s “Millennium Tour” in his country for the year 2000. After the return of the Royal Family to Elisabeta Palace in Bucharest in 2001, Crown Princess Margarita and Prince Radu represent the Royal Family of Romania on various occasions in the country and abroad.

He lectures and makes speeches in Romania, as well as in Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Morroco, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Senegal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States. Prince Radu appears regularly on TV and publishes articles in the written press in Romania, as well as in Europe and the United States.
