Celebrations for HRH Prince Radu’s 50^th birthday

The Royal House of Romania organized on Wednesday 26^th and Thursday 27^th of May 2010 public celebrations on the occasion of the 50^th birthday of HRH Prince Radu.

The events were part of the 6^th edition of "Romania. A Journey Royal" initiated by the Royal Family in 2004, following a 140 years tradition established by King Carol I.

The Journey Royal 2010 has been attended by members of the European Royal Families, as well as by personalities from Belgium, Germany, Austria, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Switzerland, Sweden and the United States of America.

In the evening of the 26^th of May, a Gala Performance took place at the Operetta National Theatre in Bucharest. Created by Dan Puric for the occasion and entitled "Royal Fashion", the Gala Performance included pantomime, dance and music.

Thursday 27^th of May, in the morning, a Traditional Karate Demonstration by children and young people has been hosted by the British School in Bucharest. Prince Radu is the Patron of the Romanian Traditional Karate Federation. The participants at the Journey Royal then visited Comana Monastery (southern Romania).

The same day, at 6 pm a Garden Party has been hosted by Their Majesties the King and Queen at Elisabeta Palace in Bucharest. Representatives of local communities as well as political personalities, businessmen, artists and members of the Diplomatic Corps also attended the Garden Party.
